We have Lost our Individuality

We have all lost our ‘sense of being’ in society today. Individualism is frowned upon, as if it were some kind of potent malady. However, in the 21st century we have to follow the herd’. Like sheep we blindly move wherever our taskmasters [the powers-that-be] want us to move. It is a ‘Do as I say, and not as I do’ scenario being played out time and again.

Any sign of individualism and it is stamped upon as quickly as it rises. This means that there really does not seem to be a moment in our lives when we can say that we have true individual thought. For every thought, every single thing we do, is guided, watched [and stamped upon if deemed to be a detriment to the ‘State’.]

Our names are filed away for future reference the moment we are born. And we are poked, packaged and stuck in a system which records our ethnicity, race, nationality and gender. So, we are ‘filed away’, and our details can be viewed by those who are in authority, at any given moment.

We believe we live within a truly ‘free’ society, in which free speech is our given right. How wrong can we be? How misled are we? True free speech is for the privileged few, while ‘free speech’ and ‘democracy’ for the rest of us is allowed…up to a point. In a society that is full of CCTV cameras, that listens in to conversations on the phone, that records everything we say, type, or do, can we truly say that we have individualism? Or, for that matter, that we have ‘true freedom’?

The individuality of a human being has been deleted, wiped away in an orgy of manic fear about just what one person with their own individual thoughts could do to a society that is so against such a thing. We must ‘run with the crowd’ or we do not run at all. We must obey the ‘rules’ of society, whatever those rules may be. And, in order to get us to ‘obey’ those rules, we are subtly controlled by powers beyond our own control.

Little do we realise, that the vast majority of us follow down one singular path, in which we are all destined to remain at ‘one level’ without any hope of progress at all. It is only through fighting against the system that is stacked against us - a system that is so stacked against the individual [if that person does not happen have the finances] that we can maybe rise to the top, through sheer hard work, talent and bravery.

Yet, if we wish to remain apart from the crowd, to be able to ‘think’ for ourselves, and to be brave enough to see our individual ideas and thoughts through - despite the barriers placed in front of us by society - then we must continue to do just that, and to retain our individuality.

If one believes that he or she is ‘truly free’ then think agan. Only those with money, power and prestige could say such a thing. Yet, to be ‘truly free’ [without having the financial riches] one must be able to retain their own ‘individual thoughts and ideals’. It is only by keeping these alive, that one would be able to succeed within a society such as this one.
