There are some people who always depend upon the kindness of strangers. Kindness is a virtue bestowed upon us by good-natured, kind-hearted and loving people. In this hurried, competitive society, the act of kindness really matters. While, being kind to one another is an ideal situation, there are very few people that practice this creed.

Kindness is based on an attitude of graciousness. Some people believe that acts of kindness will be returned to them. “Pay it forward” is a concept that deals with a good deed that was shown to you and is then shown to another person. Therefore, this random act of kindness is repeated. Kindness is the promotion of positive energy. This positive energy rebounds and makes you feel a warm fuzzy feeling and may even build up your serotonin levels.

Perhaps in your acts of kindness, you might even see this world through rose- colored lenses. Now, imagine that! Reciprocating an act of kindness may lead us to an Utopian society. In a Utopian society, even strangers would exhibit acts of kindness. It can be done with graciousness, gratitude and sincere motives. 

Certainly, it would be kind to hold the door open for someone, instead of carelessly letting the door slam in their face. That kind gesture would only take a mere moment of your time and more than likely that person will greatly appreciate your kind gesture. Kindness is not measured by the deed. Kindness is a measure of your caring and sensitivity towards others. Surely, the world would change if we were all kind towards each other. 

A kind deed is just a word away. A kind deed is just a step away. So, why rush to the door of the bank, just so that you might be the first person in the teller line? Be kind. Will those few seconds change your life? Your act of kindness might just change someones life.

There is a word of caution in these acts of kindness. “Be kind, because you might be entertaining angels while unaware”. The circumstances of strangers may be unknown to you. But, God is all knowing and God sees the time you take to be kind to his children. 

The next time a stranger might ask you for change. Be kind and courteous because you are in the position to give to another person and it may not always be that way.
