How a Positive Attitude is Important when Meeting with others Unlike yourself

Meeting new people can be hassle. It is important to be able to carry oneself with a positive and friendly disposition, to not only encourage others, but build solid, long-lasting relationships.

It is very easy to be positive and chipper when socializing with someone with similar interests, personalities, culture, or age group. However, there is more effort given to having a positive demeanor with people who are different than oneself. But, do not let the differences stop positivity. Positivity is said to be the source of success in any given situation. Why? Because positivity is an encourages, it is a motivator, and faith builder.

There are countless of stories from those with cancer or disabilities, and have overcome the odds because of their positive attitude. Their attitude begins to encourage those with similar illnesses, and is applauded and admired by others. That kind of inspiring attitude should be used when meeting someone different or with anyone. If anything, having a positive attitude to people in general, can lead to great friendships, knowledge about the person’s skills and abilities that can be passed on, and develop more effective communication skills. There are always opportunities via school, work, church, charities or other establishments to socialize, establish a positive attitude, and learn something from people of a variety of different social and ethnic backgrounds.

If living in America, one would know that it is a melting pot filled with people of different personalities, religions, cultures, race, morals, ethics, and personal style. It is nearly impossible to adapt oneself to all cultures and religions in America, but it is possible to have a positive attitude that can enable someone of a different culture or religion to bond and learn from one another. After all, America is the land of equality. Everyone must learn at some point to be able to work with people of different walks of life with a non-bias positive attitude to ensure and encourage productivity and equality in the workplace. Knowing how to effectively communicate with people outside of one’s comfort zone does not just benefit oneself and the other person, it benefits society. It gives society peace and balance. It gives children and teenagers encouragement to display a positive attitude, despite differences.

We live in a society where those who are different are pushed aside and treated negatively. Take the time, to be the different one, and reach out with a positive attitude smile to encourage and learn from someone who is different than oneself.
