Is Humor necessary on a Daily Basis - Yes

Does gloom breed gloom?  As much as humor breeds humor.

Humor on a daily basis makes for a better way of life.  It can make your job easier, your relationships more comfortable and put a smile on a child’s face.  Even the dog can tell when there is humor around.

Some people enjoy living in the negative world where there are no smiles or giggles, only dead pan faces or frowns.  How long can they endure this?  Always.  This is their way of life and an outbreak of laughter causes them to shout out “Shut that crap up!”  In fact, this happened to me several times when I was a child.  Had it been a grown up, I’m sure some form of disapprovement would have been shown.

Visiting with my great relatives, old pictures on the wall showed people whose faces were deadpan or just downright evil looking.  Often, I wondered if that had been their way of life or were they just afraid of the photographer.  It’s true, I wondered what a smile on their faces would was brought.

There have been days when I absolutely thought I would not make it through.  Then, a cheery voice on the other end of the phone would brighten me up somewhat asking for me to come and have a drink.  Leaving my work with the idea that it would be there when I returned, I picked up and left.  Of course, this was my own work and the only thing I had to worry about was money coming in as I was own boss.

Sometimes, a good laugh when you are all by yourself helps a lot.  Find a comedy movie or read Forrest ©ump.  One of the funniest scenes was left out of the Forrest Gump movie and it was just hilarious.  So, in fact, I found myself giggling way after I had finished and put the book down.

There’s nothing that says a person can’t have a good laugh all by himself even though, some would say he is crazy.  Try it.  It will make you feel better for the rest of the night or day.

You might could scruntch by a day without humor but don’t stay away from it too long.  Laughter is good for the stomach, lungs and other organs of the body, plus it puts your perspective in a different light.

Yes, we do need humor every day.
