Tips on how to Organize your Schedule
An organized life is undoubtedly productive. When your tasks are properly organized you will get more work accomplished in good time. A disorganized life will undoubtedly experience chaos and slow down your pace in getting things done. Whether you are a Chief Executive Officer of a large corporation or a house wife, you need to have your schedule organized so that you will have a sense of fulfilment at the end of each day.
The following tips have proven worthwhile with all categories of people in organizing their schedule.
*Always have a checklist of all pending tasks. Let it include all that you need to do whether at home or for your business. You may want to put them into categories. The list must always be handy. If you are good with the features on your cell phone, maximise it by using the memo pad to list your tasks. You can also use the To-do-list and the calendar as reminders. Ensure that you choose a convenient time to update the list daily, for some people it could be morning time while some will prefer to prepare for the next day the previous night. Delete or cross out a finished task so that you will have a sense of fulfilment while looking at your list.
*Shun multitasking. This may not sound trendy but if you are going to be organized you need to give full attention to a task per time. Attempting to finish many tasks per time will always bring confusion and fatigue very quickly. This may actually dampen your spirit and lower your enthusiasm to complete more assignments.
*Ask for help. Never think you can do all things by yourself. There are people out there that are really willing to help you with some of tasks, only if you humble yourself to ask them. Look through your list and check the people around you, some may be in the neighbourhood or in the office that could be of help with some tasks that do not need much supervision. Delegate these assignments to them and be sure you appreciate them after completing the task satisfactorily.
*Learn to say no. It is important for you to establish the limit for the number and kind of assignments you will accept. Let the people in your life know your limit. Courteously tell people that are seeking your help no when you have reached your limit.
*Accountability. Take time periodically to compare notes with friends, family members or colleagues on how you are doing with your schedule of tasks. Ask them to feel free to call you to order whenever you are going off track.
There is a sense of fulfilment, joy and peace that comes with an organized schedule. Using those tips above is not rocket science for anyone; they are tools that every individual can use.
