The Role Superheroes Play in Society
The absence of God on earth creates superheroes in society in His place as every individual has had to look to another individual sometimes in their life. There seems to be a need to attach to someone who is larger than life that share the same values or interests. Those individuals play out as superheroes in our society as they have great success at everything.
Sometimes we acknowledge the famous by sharing like successes to our own. For example, some people give tribute to some people in the Media by watching and listening to famous people gossip. There are many people in the news today that can be role models especially for the young. We all need success even when it falls short in our own lives. Yet, there is individualness in every person. We all have our own story to share, whether large or small. That’s why we can realate to the superhero of our choice.
There are famous astraunats, entertainers, politicians, athletes, writers and inventors, to name a few, in the News now and they are larger than life and not the average Joe here in the US and abroad. They have attributes that people adore and follow. They create their own following by their great achievements in life. As regular citizens we hold some kind of a bond to the role superheroes play in society.
But, some superheroes die, leaving tarnished reputations, ill health or just plain old age and are no longer in the spotlight. That is why new talent has to be born and sought after again and again. Truly, being a superhero is something to aspire to for some individuals and we all need the ingredient of inspiration or success in our lives through superheroes.
Look at all of the movies and comic books that depict a superheroe’s actions and life. As a whole, society takes refuge in something bigger than itself. There are many average Joes and few superheroes in our World, because these people are a scarcity in our society. We look for someone fills a void in our lives, because we all have the need for greatness or reckoning at some point in our lives, even if it is for the short term.
Upon reflecting my own life, my superheroes came and went with time and several of them filled a need in my life. Aspiring to be like some famous people made my personal life richer and better. The Media always try to capture the essence of superheroes in the making and compare those times to their final passing away. When we lose a superhero we lose a chapter of life of greatness, because for some the bigger they were in life the harder they fall too for some. This is the role superheroes play in society.
