Intelligence are we more Intelligent than our Ancestors - Yes
We are our ancestors, so how can we be smarter than they were. We are a product of their being and intelligence. We may add to what we have inherited from our ancestors but we are no smarter. Each generation learns new and additional information to build upon the foundation of knowledge that our ancestors have passed on to us. We are more techno savvy and well read. We may know a lot more that is available to us than was available to them at that time. When we are no longer on our earthly journey we will pass on genetic, written and verbal knowledge to those who shall come after us. They will in turn add to their genetic knowledge base as they are exposed to more knowledge and information as society progress through the ages.
IQ or intelligence quotient does not prove or determine intelligence, it is only an indicator of what we have experienced and learned on our search for truth and more knowledge. IQ tests measures our knowledge, exposure to information, life experiences, fact that we have accrued, and life’s experiments that we have determined true or not true. We are not more intelligent than the next guy, we have just been more exposed and introduced to more information than others. My IQ is 130, does that make me more intelligent than any one else? No. I have been an insatiable reader of books, documents, informational manuals, trivia, and any other information that I can read and understand. I have spent a life time gathering information because I like knowing something about everything. I have some knowledge that I inherited from my ancestors that I can not claim as mine, but I have learned to build upon the knowledge that my ancestors have graciously given me.
So, are we smarter than our ancestors, No, because we have taken genetic information that our ancestors have given us and added to that most precious knowledge base and we have become more intelligent than we were before. This begs the question, why are some people not as intelligent as I am or some others? The answer is because some people have chosen not to become enlightened and thus allowing themselves to have a minuscule knowledge base, and that’s alright because we need people who we can help to become more enlightened. That is why we have teachers like me who can enlightened students into the intellectual world of knowledge and the need for it. Laus Deo.
