How to Plan for an Overseas Wedding
Location! Location! Location!
Location is so much more important when planning an overseas wedding. The location one would say in this instance is more important than even the wedding dress.
To pull off a great overseas wedding you have to have the following details locked and loaded;
1. Location: This can be on a beach somewhere in the Caribbean or in an old church in Italy. If you are having it in the Caribbean on a beach, you need to check with the hotel to see if they have a package to suit your vision, whether there is a minister/pastor at that location to perform the service or if you need to bring your own. When thinking of a location for the nuptials it is essential to check the weather forecast in that part of the country. Call the local weather station if you have to, because you don’t want to fly a million miles to get married and your special day gets rained out, or God forbid there is a tidal wave.
2. Travel Arrangements: Whether the wedding is taking place oversees or in your home town, some traveling is required. So when getting married in an overseas location it is essential that you fly to the location at least a week prior to the special day, so that you can talk to the hotel staff as to your wishes and requests on your special day. This time can also be used to scout out places nearby that you are your spouse can take the guests, so that everyone can be guaranteed a wonderful time.
3. Cost: A lot of people think that oversees weddings are less cheap than in town wedding, and that can be true in most cases, but if an overseas wedding is not planned properly it can end up costing double a regular wedding. So if guests will be flying overseas to attend the wedding, it is always great to get a head count of all those family and friends that are willing to take a trip out of the country to join in on this special day. It is best to call various airlines and hotels in the place that you want to get married and try to get a package deal that includes flights, hotel stay, transportation and entertainment. It will be more bang for the buck.
