SETTLING FOR SECOND BEST

When I was young growing up in the mountains in East Tennessee and Western North Carolina my parents, Grand Parents and teacher’s instilled in me not to settle for second best…

In my opinion I think many of the problems most people have here in the USA in 2007 come from their habit of settling for second best instead of them putting forth an effort to only settle for the best..

Many people settle for an education that is second best because they assume they can not afford a better education… Instead of exploring options to achieve a better education they become complacent and settle for second best..

I believe when most people get a job they also settle for second best instead of patiently waiting or training to get the job they want they will settle for any job they can get..Mainly because they settled for a job they really didn’t want in the first place they become unhappy and their negativity leaks over into their non working life..

When it comes to marriage almost everyone settles for second best ..Recently I read an article in a psychiatric trade magazine with the updated statistics for marriage..Statistics today indicate that 65% of all marriages will end in divorce..My opinion why 65% of all marriages end in divorce is because the couple were settling for second best and were in lust instead of love….Lust masquerades as love but will not last..Both love and lust feel good but lust will fade over a period of time whereas love will last and will grow stronger over a period of time..Many people give up trying to find a mate they love and will settle for someone they have a feeling of lust for and when that lust fades their marriage will usually end in a divorce..

Prior to the 1960’s the USA was considered by most people through out the world as being the very best..
The products made in the USA,cars,airplanes,electronic equipment,colleges and most things were considered to be the best there was..I believe mostly due to many people in the US who settle for second best we are no longer the country that leads the way..Why settle for less than the very best? Don’t you believe you are deserving of the very best? I ask everyone to get off their pity pot and quit settling for anything but the very best and lets once again make the USA and our people and our way of life the envy of the world..
