What determines each person’s fate? It is just a 4-letter word and what appears to be the healthiest possible interpretation is to develop a ritual that begins after you are done sleeping.

If your sleep patterns are raggedy the idea is to sleep until you wake up and then have a couple of cups of coffee and work yourself into a good mood.  If you can work yourself into a good mood without the coffee, power to you.  If you have already lived a great deal of your life and do not have to be anywhere contemplate the leisure luscious time before you.  This contemplative effort may involve chocolate, fantasies or stuff on the television set the point being that you are better off if your unconscious is involved.  After that  check to see if any of your friends have died because the first thing that social people do is connect and if you have already attended your 50th high school reunion in SomePlaceElse USA.  You might be  wired into various social media and have offspring who can assist with technical problem areas such as not getting Happy Birthday messages from far away friends.  My goodness; you might be old and have the pictures to prove it.

Sometimes it is possible to meditate on how young smart and NEW the offspring are (unless they become surly and refuse to admit that they don’t know how to fix something).  Sometimes it is possible to  make new friends that you may never meet face to face but then many older people do not have connections to the internet and this deficit has REALLY shapes human interactions or lack thereof.  Ok, there are phone people who did NOT have area codes when they were were young.  Genitals were rarely mentioned and often not named because the idea was that fate was in one’s hands and going to school meant getting ahead.  Ahead of what was in fact not clearly defined and women in general were allowed to be nurses not doctors, teachers not principals and secretaries not managers.

Perhaps the point is that in a world that is progressively more open honest and willing to give people a chance a positive upward spiral begins to develop.  It is highly likely that suffering is optional and that fate is flexible. 

 Your fate may be unknown but if your favorite 4 letter word is love you may well have generated a better world.
