Ways to Incorporate Automation into Daily Life

There are some people who automatically turn to automation to help them get through a busy day while others avoid automation like the plague.  However, there are several ways that you can incorporate automation into your daily life and allow you to add more time to your already stressed out schedule. Here are a few simple ways to incorporate automation into daily life.

Coffee Makers

When you wake in the morning you often like to have a cup of coffee or a cup of tea before you get started. Rather than getting up and preparing it and waiting what seems endless amounts of time for it to brew, invest in a coffee maker with a timer. Set the timer to start brewing your coffee or tea fifteen minutes before your alarm goes off. This simple change not only adds time to your day, but is a simple way to incorporate automation into daily life.  If you do not have a coffee maker that has a timer mechanism on it, purchase a timer to use on your coffee maker.

Timers on Lights

Very few people are comfortable coming home to a dark house. As the days grow darker earlier, especially in the late fall and through winter, you may find yourself groping around for a light switch.  Consider setting timers on your lights and you no longer have to come home to a dark house. Many of the newer timers offer automatic eyes that will turn your lights on at dusk and allow you to set a specific time to turn them off. These handy, inexpensive timers are a great way to incorporate automation into your daily life.

Garage Door Openers

We have all at one time or another arrived home from work, visiting or shopping only to find it is pouring rain or freezing cold.  We drag ourselves out of a nice warm vehicle to open up the garage door and then run back to the car to park it in the garage.  Instead of this routine that does little more than frustrate you, consider an automatic garage door opener.  This allows you to open your garage from the comfort and warmth of your vehicle and pull right into the garage and close the door.  Generally, the garage is cooler than the indoors but far warmer than the outdoors and certainly more comfortable than getting pelted with rain, wind or snow.

Ice Cube Makers

If you live in a home with more than one person there is a very good chance you have gone to the freezer to get ice for your drink only to find there is only one or two ice cubes remaining.  In the hot weather, few things are more frustrating. Instead of worrying about running out of ice, invest in an ice maker for your refrigerator. Many models allow you to have one installed and it will save you time as well.  Never again will you have to wait hours to have ice cubes available.  Never again will you need to worry about running out of ice at gatherings.  This is a simple way to incorporate automation into daily life.

Summary

Some people are easily intimidated by automation.  However, automating some features can save time and can save money as well.  These are just a few of the ways that you can incorporate automation into daily life.  Look around your home and find other ways that can help you save time by incorporating automation into your daily life.
