The Powerful Impact of Thinking Positively

The human person is an extraordinary symphony of mind and body. Actions in the real world have a direct connection to thought and the content of that thought has a drastic affect on a person’s life. Everyone in the world continually has both positive and negative thoughts coursing through her or her mind, but it is those who consistently choose to focus on the positive thoughts that have a dramatic impact for good both for humanity as a whole and in his or her individual life.

Each individual has a natural tendency to look at the world either positively or negatively. Some people are quick to see what is wrong, what does not work, or what is lacking, while others are quick to see what is right, what works, and what is present. Each type of individual will focus first on what his or her eye tends to see first, but neither type of person is without the will to think differently. Natural tendencies are merely general ways of thinking and acting, but the will is powerful enough to overcome these tendencies and as a result to make significant changes in a life and in the world.

Positive thoughts open up possibility for real changes. They look at what does not work and strive to see how it can work. They don’t dwell unnecessarily on the failure, but instead focus on a correction or even on a new way of doing things entirely. The mind of the inventor, a person who creates something new, is one that begins with the positive thought that real, revolutionary change is possible. Negative thoughts keep us captive to what is without hope for anything better, but positive thoughts see beyond what is, to what can be and as a result open up opportunity to make a better world.

Negative thoughts deplete power and render the individual impotent to change his or her circumstances. Such thoughts lead to idleness, self-destructive behavior, and can over time lead to self-annihilation. Negative thoughts drive the person lower and lower until there is an inability to see a way out.  Hopelessness is a direct result of negative thoughts and it prevents the person from using his or her gifts to make a better life and a better world.  Society loses when negative thoughts remove an important asset and make the world a worse place as a result.

To think positively is to think in a  revolutionary manner. It is not to reject reality, but to see a way that reality can be better for all. It is to see what can be and draws up the courage to make the necessary steps to make that new vision a reality. Positive thoughts feed upon themselves in the same way that negative thoughts do. In contrast to the continual decline that results from negative thinking, positive thinking builds upon itself to create a positive spiral that has almost no upper bound. Positive thoughts creative a higher platform from which even greater achievements can be accomplished and from which even more revolutionary successes can be both seen and accomplished.
