The Power of being Generous
Before we talk about generosity, it is first important to ask yourself “what is generosity?” Generosity may be controversial due to the topic being subjective. We often tend to disagree about how much is considered “generous”. In my opinion, being generous means giving without waiting to receive in return. People who are generous often lead happy lives where they treasure friendships and relations over money. Such people are able to succeed because they often pursue what their heart desires in comparison to others who are constantly in search of money. It is important to note that money does not buy happiness. You will have to develop new qualities that will lead you to being happy.
Think of the last time you sent a few gifts to your friends and loved ones. If it has been more than a year then you should probably consider revising your personal values. Think of it this way, which would you consider more important, having people to support, encourage, and are there throughout your life or having an extra couple of hundred dollars in your savings account? I would surely pick having friends and family who will always be there when I need them. Besides, how would money help you, when in need of company and support?
Once you have made the right choice, being generous becomes more of a quality than a value. You will start to realize that not everything seems the same. You will then be able to pursue any career as long as you are patient. With enough effort and perseverance, you start achieving aims that you thought were never possible. At the same time you start to build strong relationships with people, who will push you to achieve new potentials.
By now, you should have realized the huge importance of being generous. Not only does it make you a better person, it enables you to live a long and happy life. It also makes you a social, loving and caring individual that will probably make a positive difference in today’s society.
Our society today is need of more generous people. People who are passionate and desire the best for others. Such people are needed in today’s society where crime rates are constantly on the rise. Start by reaching out. A simple call can make a difference. Remember all your high school friends? Now is the time to call them, see how they’re doing. Even set up a reunion if possible. They will be more than glad to hear from you. They would also have some interesting stories about their experiences after school that will surely benefit you.
In conclusion, being generous is more of a quality than a value. It also means to give without expecting a reward. Being generous will help you achieve new potentials and push your limits even farther. You will develop important qualities along with being generous, such as being patient, social, and caring. Generosity will enable you to succeed and pursue your goals that you’ve always dreamed of achieving.
