Responsible changes in Society and their Impact on Mankind
Transformation
I have always been interested in the paradigm shift that is currently underway. I am in agreement with futurist Barbara Marx Hubbard that makes it plain that humanity if at a point in its history where it is facing an opportunity for ‘conscious evolution’ that it has never had in the past.
Of course the paradigm shift necessitates that people become more, ah yes, the dreaded “r” word, responsible. The fact is that humankind needs to be looking at the choices right here and now because the world we live in is one of a consensus reality. People need to examine the status quo, such as it is, and decide if it is willing for the status quo to continue, or whether we want to decide to go off in a new direction.
Without question some of the decisions and or actions may be somewhat painful. Never the less when one considers the alternative, the very continued existence of our species, the planet is at stake. Certainly sacrifices would be required by all people, but those sacrifices should be looked at as growth opportunities.
Here people have the chance to make a stand for the world of peace, love joy, and harmony so many claim to want. It is achievable and in truth no one is going to force anyone to make a choice for something they truly don’t want. We all have our free will and it is up to us to determine where we want that free will to take us.
Of course there are changes that are already happening if we will but look around us. If one looks it is not hard to see the ‘cracks’ in the existing infrastructure of our society. Many of the seeming problems we see on a daily basis are there so we can look at them and decide if we want to do something about them. Much of the negativity and or chaos that seems to exist is nothing more than the death throes of an old way of being and the birth pains of the new world that is emerging.
To be sure there is no reason to fear the changes that are happening. Those changes portend a world where people can be truly free, but as Ghandi said, we have to “be the change you want to see” . We have to have to become what the Native Americans call a “heyoka” and begin to live a live contrary to the ignorance and apathy that has tended to afflict humankind for so long. Believe it or not there is light at the end of the tunnel and, no, it is not an oncoming train.
Be well.
