Nerds Geeks Unpopular how to be Popular Losers following your Dreams who am i Opportunties

The word Nerd, is a commonly used American term to describe someone who is really intelligent and does not care for the things, most teenagers care for. Such as fashionable clothes, popular music and social networking. How would you recognise a nerd if you came across one then ? He would probably be the one with his/her nose in a book or the person who asks the teacher for homework. They will most likely,be wearing clothes they others would not be seen dead in.

They may be in the chess team or be interested in Quantum Physics. They will enjoy sci fi almost to the point obsession;another thing that will make them stick out will be they will be respectful to their parents and other adults. Lame eh ? Their rooms are probably tidy and they are sure to give 100 and ten percent to everything they do academically.

If you do have to talk to them, make sure no one sees you or you will surely become less popular. However, its fine to bully, name-call,or shun nerds, in fact that will probably raise you up in the popularity stakes. Its safe too, as a nerd will just take it, suckers that they are, not much chance of a bloody nose there.

So that’s settled nobody wants to be a nerd do they, so how do you avoid becoming one ? Well watch the most popular person in your school, see what they wear and how they act. Then emulate it, make sure you hang out with the cool people. Dress fashionably, network socially, do favours for the people you look up to. Make yourself indispensable, do only the work you have to do and never ask for homework. Better still, pay a nerd to do it for you, then you won’t miss all of those cool parties you need to be seen at. Lie to get what you want to your parents, to your teachers and you will find the world is your oyster. You will be popular, have a bright future ahead of you.

What can you expect if you do all these things ?  Will you have lots of friends and be very wealthy, probably. However, one day you will feel empty inside and go out and buy something really expensive, to fill the big hole inside you. That could go on for the rest of your life, the delusion you created for yourself. You find you have everything you ever wanted and still you are unsatisfied, something is missing.

What is wrong, you have not right or reason to feel like this. You have a beautiful wife high achieving children, a successful business, lots of friends, you should be ecstatic, but why do you feel so sad ? Then comes evaluation time you start to observe things more closely. Your pretty wife, is loving only when you give her what she wants and its the same with the kids too. Your supportive friends exclude you from the group when your business is failing. After all, no one wants to be associated with losers do they ?

No- one really wants to know what you are thinking, only what you can do for them. Looking around you see you got all you wished for and more. You realise you are shallow your life is shallow, you never followed your dreams but fitted into others dreams. You spent all your life running from who you are and as a consequence ask, who am I ?

Looking back at school you remember the nerds who took time to know themselves. The friend you dropped in year 7 as they weren’t popular enough! The outcasts who were freer than you could ever be. They made decisions for themselves, like what to wear, what to study. They got to know their parents, teachers, your father was always too busy working to be there for you. They followed their dreams not the dreams of others. So think carefully as you step in the world of adults what do you want from your life, a true life or a fantasy life ? What you would give for your nerdy friend now, the best friend you ever had !
