Is our Society Letting go of its Morals - Yes
There is moral decay , everywhere you look. It seems people are only concerned about themselves. It has been said before, “This is a dog eat dog world”. Sadly, this saying may be true. Finding the answer to this question ,”Is our society letting go of its morals? The answer may be elusive and hard to decipher. Do we even know, what the morals of society are in these days of strife and recession? We can figure out our predicament by examining all of the factors. A negative plus a negative always ends up negative. Is the answer really that simple”?, you might say.
It appears the absence of respect for each other and consideration shown to each other is no longer important or required. Children no longer respect their parents! The fabric of society is frayed and worn. We are no longer in need of a menace to society or a Bonnie and Clyde figure, romanticized into modern day heroes. A no-tolerance rule should be enacted by always demonstrating respect towards others. Our morals must be taught in our homes and practiced on the streets. We should never be too busy to respect one another. Are we not in the age of progression?
Will most people do anything to survive? The peer pressures of youth, the abandonment of issues that concerns everyone is prevalent in our society. Neglecting who we are and losing pride in our own confidence contributed greatly to the loss of our morals. Yet, we can regain confidence and take pride in our first steps back to morality.
We have the ability to choose right from wrong. We also have the ability to harness our future goals and change our direction from a gradual decline into moral decay. It takes each individual to promote this time tested idea. Employers who care about its employees. Doctors who care about patients. Neighbors who care about their neighborhoods. I care about what you do, more than likely your actions concern me.
Who gives a damn? I most certainly do. “Well, what will you do”?, you might ask. It will start with how I treat myself and others all around me. Will you join me? Let’s start with the man or the woman in the mirror. The gender is of no consequence. Ethnicity is not a factor either. Respect is a timeless concept. People who don respect are always en vogue. It is true, one size really does fit all.
