Is it okay to Steal out of Desperation - No
Stealing is stealing, even when done out of desperation. We are living in a time of desperation, a vast majority of our population are losing everything they have worked very hard to attain. We are not living in the dark ages where stealing was the only way to keep from starvation. We have many options to feed our hungry families today. There are a multitude of charities and churches to accommodate the hungry families in our nation. Stealing is wrong in any form, and anyone with morals would not do it. The temptation is out there and the crime rate is rising due to the highest unemployment rates in decades, but no child in this country should be going hungry.
If those who are able would help those who are in need, there would not be a need to steal out of desperation. There are programs and missions to help. And those with the means should donate. Help your nieghbors, friends and fellow mankind keep the peace in our world by eliminating the desperation and need.
If a time ever arises in this country where the desperation is so overwhelming and there is no longer the necessary help out there, than maybe stealing out of desperation would be ok. Only as a very last resort and only for survival, such things as food, medicine and a warm coat or blanket. It would be very sad to see that time come in our world today.
This is not to say all is good in the world we live in today, there is plenty wrong. But stealing is not the answer. A united front in the United States is what is desperately needed now. Build stronger safer communities, people need to stick to their morals and high standards and stick together.
The current job situation in this country has many good people in a desperate situation, feeling hopeless and scared right now, and the temptation is surely out there. But if we are to maintain a fortitude of trust with our fellow mankind we have to stick together until the dark cloud blows through and the sunshine brightens our lives again.
The phrase, “desperate times call for desperate measures” does not mean go out and steal what you can not work to attain. If one is desperate enough to steal they should not be too ashamed to go ask for the help that is available to them. There is no pride in stealing.
