Importance and Necessity of True Friendship

True friendship should be important and a necessity to every human. True friendship is having someone that you can trust and depend on. Everyone should have the gift of having someone that they can trust and depend on. They should have someone that they can tell their inner most secrets to without worrying that they might be betrayed. They should have someone that they can laugh with and cry with. Each of us should have at least one person in this world who will listen whole-heartedly as we praise, complain or even just babble a bit. A true friend is one that is always going to be there for you no matter what and that is a very comforting feeling. That true friend is going to see you through the good times and the bad. They’re going to love you through your illnesses, your grieving periods and your depression. They won’t hesitated to advise you, correct you when they feel you’re wrong and stand beside you when you’re right but others may think you’re wrong.

To have a true friend, you also have to be one. You have to show the same support to your friend that has been shown to you. You have to be there when that friend needs you and reciprocate all the love and support that has been given to you. You have to be able to laugh with your friend when they laugh and cry when they cry. You have to be able to give support and criticism in a loving caring way.

It’s comforting to know that there is someone in this world who loves you and cares about you like a true friend. It’s important to know that there are things in this world that will happen in your life that you won’t have to deal with alone. It’s paramount to feel that no matter what happens in your life you know that you have a true friend that you can call upon any time of any day and they are going to be available for your every need. If you have a true friend in your life, it should be an honor for you to return all the loving gestures. It should come easily without even having to think about it.

There are things that you can share with a true friend that you can’t share with any one else, not a spouse, mother or father. There are times that you spend with your true friend that you wouldn’t want to trade for anything in the world. That true friend shares the best and worst events in your life with you. If not for that true friend you would have no vent, no shoulder to cry on, no one to share your laughter and happy times or your prideful times.

It would be hard to know that you have no one to share the main events of your life with; the birth of a child, or grandchild or a new job or even a new car. It would also be hard to know that you might have to go through the loss of a loved one without your true friend to love you through that difficult time.

Cherish your true friend, love them and respect them and keep them close to your heart. You will need them so many times in your life as they will need you also. Treat your friendship gently and lovingly so that you may preserve it for the rest of your life.
