How to Promote Peace
Catching up on our human history, we will find many interesting and intriguing insights about the causes of problems and wars throughout our existence.
As we unveil the many threads and pieces of our existence, several quite enclosed in heavy books, we wisely conclude, with little surprise, that the human kind has fought for it’s interests. Nothing new, since we do this everyday. It can be as an individual, as a group, a country, or even, who knows, a world.
The problem has been that the wrong interests have promoted endless battles and wars between us. Interests in the name of science, politics, religion, that somehow have a general direct relation to economics. Money! Power! These are indeed the main objects of interest!
For this we fight, and for this we have no real peace. For this we destroy, kill, exclude, lie, cheat and even when we have what we want, our hearts desire is to have more.
The sense of boundaries is yet to be understood, and that is indeed a good place to start for the goal of world peace. If we understand our boundaries, we learn how to respect them and others among us, and respect is crucial for a safe thriving society.
If we respect each other, we will gain new interests. The interest to speak the truth, in a wise way of course. The interest to have and to hold only our share of things, letting others have their share as well, in a system of justice, as justice is a consequence of respect.
We must set aside our differences and acknowledge that each and everyone of us is important in this world, and we all need to fulfill our role in life. We must think more about others, those around us, and those who are yet to come to this world.
Nowadays most people only think of the present day, taking advantage of everything they can put a hand on, not even thinking that we are a part of history yet to come, and the world should have the means to continue it’s existence.
Money and power aren’t everything, but greed has been one of our many flaws as humans. Should we consider giving more power to our human virtues and the world itself, our nature, will grant us with many rewards. We must learn to be as one with ourselves, with each other, and with the world.
May we respect those who share this world and promote our well being, seeking answers to questions such as the one in this article. Let’s put our minds, hearts and souls into thriving safely and wisely, and stop our incessant efforts to obtain more than we actually need.
Progress is interesting and should be heavily financed, but only if it contributes to a bigger picture, a larger purpose, one where all mankind, rich or poor, no matter what race, can use it in peace and for peace.
Let’s respect and learn how to trust, for this is the key!
