How to Develop Strong Intuition Skills
While some people are extroverted by nature, they still have the capability of building skills of intuition through daily mind exercises and brain training. A strong intuition can be built by means of persistent hard work. It is a common myth that intuition cannot be built, since it is an innate characteristic of an individual.
Analyze Yourself
A key to building intuitive reasoning is by being observant of human behavior, including your own. It is often said that highly intuitive people generally show more compassion to other people. If you are a stubborn in your political/philosophical/moral views or are unsentimental towards others, try viewing yourself from an objective standpoint. Try to figure out what past influences in your life have influenced the way you portray and view yourself at the present moment.
Analyze One Situation in Multiple Scenarios
Imagine having a bad day, where you yelled at a co-worker because he was talking on his phone too loud during a client call. Throughout the afternoon, you feel guilty, but don’t understand why. A good way to put your intuitive skills to practice is to assess the stressful situation in a great amount of detail, imagining your co-worker’s perspective, your boss’ perspective, and even your wife’s perspective as you tell her the story when you get home. Miniscule details, such as the tone in which each person responded to your reaction can help you learn people skills through intuitive reasoning.
Read/Crossword Puzzles/ Brain games
Another good strategy to use to build a strong intuition is by learning. Reading books, playing Sudoku, or even playing strategy/RPG video games, where the user’s strategy is crucial to deciding the outcome of the game, are great ways to keep the mind active. Another way is to conduct small personal experiments on a daily basis. Things that seem mundane or unimportant during the course of the day should be brought into personal speculation. Questions like Why does toothpaste foam in your mouth, or why does this tree only have moss on one side, have the potential of unlocking certain truths in your mind. Giving the brain regular exercise daily will greatly improve one’s intuitive ability. Your mind is no different than your body: both require persistent and long-term effort to build strength and endurance.
A person’s ability for intuition can be compared to a calculator’s ability to calculate difficult mathematical equations in an instant. A person with a highly evolved intuition will often possess superior problem solving skills as well as an ability to quickly assess a situation.
