People do hoaxes and pranks to get attention and sadly they do not think about any negative attention or consequences that their actions may cause them. Most people know by now, about the hoax done on an Australia-based radio station recently, that went horribly wrong. The dj’s thought it would be funny to prank call the hospital where Duchess Kate was recently hospitalized for concerns about her pregnancy and see what if any information they could get by pretending to be the Queen of England.

After those audio tapes went viral, a lot of people are questioning how someone did not know by the sound of the callers voice that something did not sound right and bring it to the attention of a supervisor or something like that. Instead the nurse put the call through to Kate’s nurse and even then no one caught onto the fact that things did not sound right and information was given over the phone that never should have been released.

When the nurse who put the call through to the ward where Kate was being looked after at heard about what had happened, she was apparently so embarrassed and ashamed of what she had done, that she felt that she could not live with herself and the consequences of what she had done because as we are seeing, the media is not letting this one go easily.

Instead of letting it go and moving on so that those who need to grieve can do so, people in the media seem to think that it is necessary and appropriate to play the tapes and keep talking about what happened over and over again.

Some people are having mixed emotions about this tragedy. Some people saw the humor in the hoax or prank until they heard about the nurse tragically taking her own life, while others are waiting to hear if the radio show will be permanently taken off the air and what if any charges the dj’s might face, because their poor choice in humor caused the death of an innocent person.

Some people might argue that they never thought that their prank would cause the consequences that they did, but that is why pranks and hoaxes should not happen, because you can never completely predict what consequences may happen as a result of your hoax or prank.

The tragedy in the hoax done by the dj’s could have been completely prevented if they had just left Kate alone to take care of herself in her delicate condition. This tragedy is now causing her unnecessary stress that is not good for her health or the health of her unborn child.
