Hinder - Hinder

Our conscience without a guideline will hinder moral decisions as the battlefirld of our mind rages war against our flesh. From the time of our infancy, our comfort and satisfaction rank as the number one stimulus in our behavior patterns. In the culture of, I want it now, waiting is ancient text. Moral character makes one weak and easy to control.

The drawls against the moral character are numerous as the drive for wealth and prominence make us anxious to overcome at any expense. How many of the readers can relate to the over zealouse co-worker that would stop at nothing to crush you for the next promotion? These persons of low self esteem lack the faith to play fair and win, they are victims of the need to be satisfied. They possess the lack of inner peace that hinders the way to the person of moral character.

Too often these people whirl out of control and end up addicted to alcohol, promiscuous sex and illicit sexual affairs and on drugs as they rage against the pressures of circumstances that drive their life in the wrong direction. They end up destroying everything that they hold dearly, especially their health through self mutilation, their families and their careers. Far to often they turn away to late and their life is destroyed.

Judgementalism has fertile soil to take root and prosper in these lives that lack a moral compass to draw them back from the edge of destruction. They project their self rejection on others as they condemn the disabled, the overweight people, different races and cultures. They create rules to re-enforce their own comfort while condemning others to poverty and even death. Not only is thair conscience seared and their own worst enemy; but is also the enemy of others.

As I suggested in the beginning paragraph, successful people of conscience are empowered by God to overtake and destroy these self destructive behavioral patterns. So I suggest that most people of faith that believe in a savior, find life is more satisfying if we love and respect one another. The feeling of being part of a family of believers can satisfy the raging beast that resides within each of us.

The secret is in the renewing of our mind which can only happen if we read and study the Bible. Many might say that I am not religeous and will never be. To them I say, the Bible works for believers and non-believers as well. The Bible is a system of thinking that elevates our self worth to the place of victory. When we come to this understanding that there is more to life than fighting anguish every day, we will find the joy of living.
