Perfection comes in a number of ways. It can be the beauty of a perfect flower, a sunset or a child. These are forms of perfection which can be admired for what they are without embarrassment. No person is responsible, they have happened in the natural world and the viewer can only be left wondering in awe. Quite often they a fleeting.

Another form of perfection is that which someone strives to attain. Whether it is physical beauty, success in exams, a lifestyle or some other material thing. These are forms of perfection which can be sought after. They are goals. Having goals is one way to achieve more than the individual thought was possible for them. The important thing to remember is that here perfection is an aim which is unlikely to be achieved and there is no shame attached to this failure.

However, a need for perfection which does not allow the individual to admit to errors, flaws, mistakes and messes is in a damaging psychological place.  Something has triggered a sense of lack of worth for that person which makes them feel diminished and less that they really are. It is a common human condition. This inability to appear less than perfect has caused countless people awful trouble and involves shame. Imperfections give something other whether it is a diamond or a person.

One aspect of perfection which is sometimes overlooked is that something that has no flaws, while it is beautiful, is also limited in what it offers. It can tire the viewer because there is nothing wrong with it. This is part of the perversity of people. At the same time having imperfections sets off the perfect parts and creates character and personality. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and so is perfection. Having less than perfection is much more comfortable for most people because of the general human feeling, as individuals, that humanity is flawed. Perfection can be a bit off putting.

Perfection can be admired and it is a worthwhile goal to aim at as long as the person does not allow the inability to achievable perfection make them feel in any way diminished. However, perfection can be wearying and it is a much more comfortable place for most people to live with imperfections, even if they are small ones.
