Humour - Yes
Many people base humour around their life and they are known and identified by peers as a joker. Humour is important for people no matter what class, job or religion that they are. If people did not laugh the world would be a very dull place and if people did not try to humour others then there would be no laughter.
It is a human gift to laugh and to be humorous; people use humour to make other people laugh or people use humour to laugh in a bad situation, to break the tension and so that things do not seem so bad.
People need humour on a daily basis so that they can feel happiness and a sense of actually being alive, if people did not laugh on a daily basis this can incur human emotions that are not needed such as depression and feelings of sadness.
People can find humour in lots of areas of their life, whether it be at work to help to get through the day, with their children, with their peers or even from entertainment such as reading or television.
Many people look for something to read or watch that will be humorous as this gives people a sense of enjoyment and something else to share with their peers.
No matter which part of the world that we live in many of us struggle with how we live and the circumstances that we find ourselves in, many people laugh to make things seem better and to get through their struggles.
Nina Simone was a good example of this; one of her songs focused on all the things that she had which were taken away from her and then she sings that she still has all her body parts and her freedom this is one of the best feel good songs and one could also that it is a humorous song as it makes many people laugh.
People often turn to music or tune into the radio, to listen to feel good songs. Another example of this is “Always look on the bright side of life”. It could be argued that it is a human trend to look for the “Bright side of life” as so many people do it and so did our relatives and ancestors.
As we look back through history there have been many events where you would not think that there could be any humour found and yet they did. Another example is the Blues, particularly for this example BB King who sang about his ancestors in the fields singing through the day as they were slaves and had to all day long in the field under immense heat.
Many will say that they find humour at church in sermons and there is also a sense of unity found when people find things funny and laugh together.
If people went for days without humour at a time then they would find it hard to find humour in their lives when they did. It would be a much darker world without humour and many people may also give up living without humour.
