Gods never knew what fatigue was. They tirelessly spun the intrigues, celebrated and mixed in human affairs. But we are not Gods like. Fatigue gets us deceitfully. crossing our plans, takes joy. We want to overcome those obstacles , sometimes relying on chemical specificities. And even if we regain our strength , it lasts too short. Then comes even more, exhaustion. However, fatigue is not a curse. This is the gift of the Gods, protecting us and saying enough! time for rest!
We are a generation of people working far too much. According to various surveys, for most of us the 8 - hour working day is much too short. Our earnings are doubled but also are our tasks and time we spend on work. More and more people work more than 48 hours per week sometimes they exceed 60 hours. And there is another group of those for whom work never ends. They constantly mobilize, cheating their bodies. And then they pay the prize exhaustion. More and more tired of people among us . Mental fatigue is the result of continuous pressure, the rat race, growing requirements of our various social roles. It usually passes away after summer holidays.
Three types of life
Fatigue today differs from that which our fathers felt. For centuries fatigue was associated with physical exercise, work of muscles and resulting loss of energy .
We are far from ideal good life that was developed by medieval monks. Due to the good life of harmony the time was divided into three parts: vita activa, dream and vita contemplativa.
First of them Vita activa that was active life concentrated on work and achieving the goals. Vita contemplative contrary to vita active, was detention time, contacting the God, and the second man himself. It was time of contact with nature , environment and time of reflection, creation time and experience the joy of existence.
If sleep is the time of rest and regeneration, the soul needs the time to stop. Then we look at the lives of ourselves, searching for a sense of what happens to us. Today the full implementation of the model’s life seems to be rather impossible ( outside the walls of monasteries and there is not easy)
We are sometimes difficult to switch from daily hectic life and stress to another lifestyle. In such a good time it is worth ensuring a healthy and long dream. Physical movement is essential- it contributes to the regeneration of tired brain areas Contact with nature, water , green so far as it is possible. The least noise and chaos. We might not count the running time on holiday. All research points to some characteristic of people living long. Their hopefulness, kindness, focus on something outside your own person- God, other people , art , crucial social ideas.
Detention can feel deeper immersion in the life. It can be playing with a child on the beach, august looks at the clouds or the stars, observing your own thoughts and feelings, deliberate reflection on something important. All these things can be a steppingstone from running the affairs and urgent tasks.
Thanks to it we can go further more confident and conscious.
