I would say no. Should the German government pay restitution to the Jews for the actions of Hitler? Alternatively, should the Egyptians? On the other hand, or the many other countries that wronged that nation? Why should the current U.S. government make apologies for the actions of those long gone?

I personally am tired of certain Blacks always looking for excuses why they cannot get ahead or always looking for a hand out.

Frankly, if the government did pay people monies for this purpose or any other purpose, the monies would just slip through their hands. Most would not know what to do with it.

It is just like those who have won money in the lottery, before you know it, they are broke again. If you are poor and have been most of your life, you are not going to know how to handle a large sum of money. You would pay off your bills, and buy a few nice things, but unless you do some investing, you will be soon broke again.

Further, more, what kind of money does anyone expect to get? What, a couple of thousand to every black family in America? It won’t amount to much in the big scheme of things. Moreover, I am not sure if America even has that much money. Especially in this economic downfall.

The government will give it to corporate businesses, because then they will have a stake in it. However, they won’t just give money away without a promise of getting some back.

I recall when President Bush gave out the tax stimulus monies to everyone. Just a couple of hundred, I am sure in every household, it was gone as quick as it came.

This victim mentality I keep seeing is really played out. Blacks have the same opportunities as anyone else. Sure, there is racism out there, but blacks are not the only ones who suffer it.

All peoples suffer prejudice from other races and sometimes from their own race. I have seen it in my own black race. Not only do we see blacks hating on blacks, but blacks who practically deny their own race.

There have been too many blacks in our history that have endured a lot more than the privileged, spoiled society we live in now.

There have been too many blacks who came out of slavery, and object racism and have stood and became beacons of light for all to see.

Other peoples as well as blacks have been ripped from their homelands and made slaves. Others had their lands occupied and were made into slaves as well as other injustices.

Black America needs to pull the thumb out of their mouths and stand up and stop making excuses, realize that we are the generation the slaves hoped and prayed for.

Start doing the right thing, the right way. Not by trying to get over, or by theft or some other deceptive or evil means.

But honestly, with integrity, with pride.

In addition, if you are knocked down, get up, dust yourself off and get back in there.

All other races do. What’s wrong with us? I think there is too much of this I am going to get mine attitude and not enough of the old school ways of neighbor helping neighbor, and Church community.

Certainly, there are those neighbors no one can trust and there are Churches that are not of God. Nevertheless, that should not stop our people from moving ahead and stop asking for handouts.

We should be prospering enough that we should be the ones handing out. Hello
