Stay at Home Dad
When a guy introduces himself as a stay-at-home dad, the first thing on your mind would probably be, “Wow, this guy is lazy!”. And you realize you have discriminated against the noblest worker in the world.
Stay-at-home dads face a lot of challenges for so many reasons. The cultural believes that a dad should be working outside makes stay-at-home fathers hard to be accepted. However, we must admit, some women have better income than their spouses. And they are willing to work for the sake of the children. And this is how stay-at-home dads become heroes.
Stay-at-home dad has the pressure of being the guy with full-time job for almost 24 hours. And some of them find awkward when they join baby care with other mothers. It is a public knowledge that a father can’t have a strong bond with the baby since he wasn’t the one who gave birth.
Moreover, there is no official training for dads. Stay-at-home peers are often dominated by mothers. And of course being one male inside doesn’t create comfortable situation. The discrimination continues as people thought that stay-at-home dads are just guys who can’t get a better job. Deciding to choose that role is hard. And being discriminated for the job is even harder for men.
Stay-at-home fathers sometimes find that they don’t have social support since the society needs them to be the financial provider instead of being babysitter at home.
The truth, children need paternal guidance, too. Being a stay-at-home father may influence babies to improve their bond. These types of fathers usually feel that children are more important than paycheck. That’s why they don’t want to miss a thing on their babies’ growth.
With the fluctuation of global economy and the changing roles of men and women, there has got to be someone who must take care of the kids at home. Especially in Western parts, stay-at-home dads have increased in popularity. As more open minded people admit the chance of settling the financial problems, the option of being at home is chosen by dads.
Among those people who discriminate, some working fathers find it a lucky thing to be staying at home and watching the infant grows. Many fathers missed the first time the baby crawled or the first time the baby said a word. Precious things are just things you can’t repeat. And being a stay-at-home Dad lets a father experience the breathtaking moments.
