Feminism and Sexuality

The radical feminist movement of today is, in my belief, based upon moral intimidation. This is an attack on femininity, on the female self image and on human nature. Women today have been made to believe that they should not be considered sexual beings or viewed as an object of desire, They have been forced to believe that men are opponents rather than partners and to be ashamed of their own bodies. Some even blame radical feminists for the decline in parental discipline and thus creating more unruly, under educated children to lead our future.

Rejection of traditional gender roles in favor of gender equality is a widely accepted standard in the U.S.A. A large percentage of women have become highly successful in their careers and fully enjoy their financial and emotional independence. A large percentage of men have opted to stay home with the children allowing their wives to provide financial support. In most situations both parties, man and woman, hold careers while accepting equal responsibility for the household chores. This is progress for men as well as for women as men no longer have to carry the heavy weight of being the sole provider and can enjoy more quality time with their friends and loved ones than ever before.

However, for some women it is not ideal to leave children with a care provider, for some being perceived as beautiful is a satisfying feeling, for some others being a good wife and homemaker would bring her endless pride. Most people want to be desired. It is simply human nature and not something to be ashamed of. Self objectification is merely the pursuit of interest. A natural display to attract the opposite sex. Regardless of how subtle or extreme the display is, much like any other living creature on our planted It is driven by the same animal tendencies . The need to continue our species.

Radical feminists aggressively attack any woman who chooses a more traditional lifestyle or those who choose to accept femininity, placing blame on these women for the continued oppression of all women. How can we truly gain equality this way? By categorizing women as a separate species which reflects all of woman kind with each individual action? By rejecting our human rights and nature? By denying the freedom to choose? All we can accomplish this way is to gain a new set of gender roles in which women dictate over men and equality becomes the oppression of men.
