Ending Racism in America

How to end racism? That is an argument that, like racism itself, has no end, unfortunately. I would love to say that the end of racism is a simple process of programming our children from birth, but it isn’t that simple. As a matter of fact it is the exact opposite. Racism is a learned trait, not inherited. 3 year olds in the sandbox could care less what the color of the skin is of the other children they are playing with. It isn’t until they get older and have the influences of their surroundings thrust upon them, that they begin to care.

Racism is not unlike a religious cult. As long as there is someone to teach it, it will be taught. As long as there are those weak enough to learn it, it will be learned. A Black man, or an Oriental man, no matter the kindness that lives on the inside, will never be good enough for a follower of the KKK. Just as a white man will always be the enemy to a Black Panther. They may work together and live next door to each other, but the words used behind closed doors will always be those of Ni*er, Gook, Wetback and Cracker.

The modern day United States of America is living proof that no matter your education and childhood teaching, racism can and will affect even those who were not brought up to be racists. We have in the office of the Presiden, a man who was raised by a white mother and grandmother, with a Black father. He received a first rate College education, yet as an adult he has let his racism show. He condemned a White Police officer, before knowing all the facts. He has called his Grandmother a ‘ typical white person ‘. Then his Administration went to far, while trying to be politically correct and show that they are not racists, by forcing the resignation of a Black woman because of something that was taken out of context 20 years ago.

As long as there is political correctness, affirmative action, The NAACP and other organizations promoting one race over another there will be racism. To tell a college or and employer that a certain percentage have to be of a certain race, is in itself, racism and discrimination. Once you start telling people that they must hire 20% blacks, then the Hispanics want their 20%, then the native Americans want their 20%, the Orientals want their 20%, the Middle Eastern population wants their 20%, the women want 50% of their 20%, the Islamics, Jews, Catholics, Atheists and Baptists all want their 20%. Where does it all end? The pie isn’t big enough for all to have 20% percent. Let the person with the best grades have the seat in the lecture hall, the person with the best qualifying skills have the job. Take race, religion, sex, marital status and nationality off the College enrollment form and the job application.

Get the Government out of the way. The truly racist organizations will rise to the surface like scum on pond water. When they do, scrape them off and deal with them accordingly. As long as the Government keeps treating everyone like racists, the true racists will never be outed and shamed from society. They will continue to hide under the cover of anti-discrimination laws and political correctness during the day and flourish behind the scenes promoting their messed up beliefs in one race over another. Nothing will turn a non-racist into a racist quicker and more effectively than treating them with racism. To scream racism everytime something doesn’t happen the way you think it should, only sinks a person to the same level as those he is complaining against.

Is there racism in America? Without a shadow of a doubt. Has the Government done anything to help solve the problem? On rare occasion I am sure that today’s Government has made a positive impact. They have, however, most certainly made the situation worse by giving in to organisations such as the NAACP, or by allowing the existence of groups such as the UNCF (United Negro College Fund). An organization that was formed for Blacks only, no whites allowed. Yet, if any other organization in America openly denied application for anything to someone based solely on their race, be it black, white, yellow or purple, they would be in court before the ink was dry on the denied application.

Racism is a social problem, not a political problem nor a Government problem. It is something only the individual has control over. It is something that cannot be forced upon someone, nor can it be forced out of someone. People must learn that all are created equal and to do so they must also demonstrate that not only is the next person just as good as he is, but that he is just as good as the person next to him.
