Whenever you address an issue like this, you will often find it is too specific to have any relevance in reality. Why are Black men fond of White women? Why are SOME Black men attracted to SOME White women. Well, in order for any man to be attracted to any women, there must be at least some mutual cordiality in the relationship. Very few adult men or women can find themselves able to find a true partner in someone who finds them repulsive, unless I have missed something. Bearing this in mind, we must take into consideration the circumstances in which Black men and White women will meet. The world is progressively becoming a vast melting pot, where shouldn’t two people of different racial backgrounds meet? But then again, as humans we have thousands of opportunities to meet thousands of different people each day, and we’re not necessarily throwing ourselves at every racially different female or male that we encounter.

No, I think it’s something much more subliminally ironic. Although it may be a sensitive subject for some, it’s interesting to delve into the subject of how African Americans actually ended up in North America. Slavery, am I right? Even though some people are fond of pushing this completely ignorant ideal on society; “We’re all the same, forget racism..” etc. But really, we’re not all the same, are we? There is no shame in admitting that Black and White people are different, it seems a little bit childish to assume otherwise. Perhaps, it is our differences that make us, in some cases, so absolutely and undeniably attractive to one another.

You can start by addressing the initial attraction between men and women, hormonal and physical inconsistencies that stimulate our reproductive desires. So in this light, a man and a woman from the same racial background will want each other solely based on the fact that they are of the opposite sex, and that they have corresponding personality traits pleasing to one another. This is an idea that usually makes sense to everyone. What doesn’t always make sense is why some people find love outside their race. If it were simply a matter of, accidentally finding a soul mate then there wouldn’t be anything to discuss, but it’s not an accident that most Black men marry Black women, is it? Therefore we must conclude that there are some societal and cultural pressures that come into the equation. As soon as these pressures come out into the open, excuse my conclusion, but I absolutely believe that there is a certain ‘rebellion’ factor involved with inter-racial breeding. 

Yes, it could be an accident that we fall in love with a Black man, a Black woman, a White man or woman. But I think it’s possible that in some cases, these inter-racial relationships inspire a little uncommon excitement in the partners, perhaps a subtle novelty that not everyone wants to notice. This novelty very well may stem from the residue of racism that still sticks to our society, or it may be something as simple as the child in all of us putting our arms together side by side, and laughing at the severe differences in the colors of our skin.
