What is the Story of Dead Bart

Bart’s death, also known as Dead Bart, is an urban legend rumored to be a lost and never aired episode of the FOX series The Simpsons. When The Simpsons began airing, the numbering of episodes was rather odd. There has been no record of why the shows episodes were aired that way, only that the particular episode “Dead Bart” was numbered 7Go6.

According to a blog, January 19th 2010 was the first record of the internet urban legend “Dead Bart” which made its debut on websites such as creepypasta and 4chan.  The story itself was a recollection of how this interviewer got in touch with the lost copy of this episode and was able to view and see why nobody else can. It is rumored that the episode that was meant to be released in season one of the series.

The episode is to be one of the most morbid episodes ever created for The Simpsons, showing how Bart dies by being sucked out of a jet plane’s window, plunging to his death. While later in the episode the family grieves and visits his grave plot only to view his corpse sitting upwards with his back against his tombstone. It is said that the tombstones behind Bart’s in the closing scene had the names of famous guest stars who had appeared on the show, and some of who had not at that time. Guest stars like Michael Jackson and George Harrison had dates that were frighteningly close to their actual date of death.

While the story is narrated and given by a person who claims to have seen the episode, his description of the scene is enough to give a person a taste of the weird, it is suggested that the episode is purely fictional. Creepy Pasta as well as other websites like Scaryforkids has an account and various articles on Dead Bart. There are also a variety of clips that are made to depict the scene itself, but are all a farce.

As a show that is geared to have a sarcastic and funny nature, the very idea of Bart’s death is absurd. Sure the young man might be very mischievous, but he is a beloved character from those of any age who watch The Simpsons. Though this internet urban legend has been flowing around for a while now, one must wonder will this lost episode ever be aired, or does it even really exist?
