Werewolves in folklore and mythology is a human that takes the shape of a wolf, either by magic or if the human is placed under a curse. Legend has it that there are many ways to become a werewolf, such as, smearing your body with an ointment made of children’s fat, human blood and herbs then putting on a belt made of wolf fur and reciting a chant, drinking water out of a wolf’s footprint or eating a wolf’s heart etc.

Stories of werewolves can be found back as far as history has been written, many of these myths can be found all over the world. Like in many movies, humans take the form of a wolf when the moon is full, but in myths, they change voluntarily. Here are some of the characteristics, according to the myths, of a werewolf in human form:

When a human is in wolf form, they tend to look like a normal wolf but is a lot bigger, still have their human eyes and can run at full speed that which a human cannot reach. Other myths say that when in werewolf form, they look like a mixture of wolf and human, about 7 feet tall when standing on hind legs, can walk on four legs or even two.

When in wolf form they tend to have an uncontrollable urge to eat human flesh, usually women and children, terrorize the countryside or they hide deep in the forests. The only way to kill a werewolf is to use anything, like a bullet, knife, sword etc. made of silver.
