A vampire can only be created by another vampire. There are rules that govern the making of vampires yet this is a golden rule. You cannot become a vampire without the help of another vampire. It is impossible. The legend of the vampire race goes back to ancient times. It is unclear who the first vampire was but it is common knowledge that the only way to make a fledgling vampire is by a host vampire.

To make a fledgling vampire another vampire must use the blood of the victim in a transference scenario. First the host vampire must drink the blood of their victim. They must draw the victim to their last heart beat. Then they must wound themselves and place the blood that flows upon the mouth of the fledgling.

The fledgling will then taste the blood of themselves mixed with the blood of their maker. This leads to tasting then drinking more forcefully. The first taste of blood for a fledgling vampire is a heady experience according to most stories. A delirious ecstasy of the mind is felt as the new blood courses through the veins.

A host vampire and also a fledgling vampire will drink the blood of their victims. This is often portrayed as a bite to the neck or wrist in literature, film and legend. These places upon mortals are the pulse points of the body where blood pounds through the veins. A vampire may not just deal in these areas though. Vampires are not all alike. Each one will have their own preference for where they will give the deadly kiss.

After the blood is shared between the host vampire and the fledgling, the fledgling will experience painful death. This is often brief but extremely terrible. The fledgling may be put into a comatose state or may feel spasms as each organ that is unneeded of the body dies. The amount of time this takes can vary from hours to days. The making of a vampire does not always happen on the first try.

Once the affects of the vampire blood work through the fledgling, they will wake very thirsty. A newly born vampire must drink blood to survive and enhance his abilities. The host vampire will in most cases teach the fledgling how to hunt his victims. This lesson must be learned swiftly as the personality of the host vampire may be quick tempered. If the fledgling fails to learn how to hunt then they will die or bring unwanted attention upon the vampire.

The host vampire is much stronger than the fledgling. Overtime the fledglings abilities will grow as will his strength. A host vampire has the ability to destroy their creation but only when they are new. A newly made vampire may be slow or quick depending upon the personality of the mortal he once was.

There are a few rules that vampires may adhere to before making another vampire. A child shall not be made a vampire, if one is the maker and/or the child vampire will be put to death by the elder vampires. A vampire is not to make another vampire without the express permission of an elder vampire. These rules are not always obeyed. The vampire who breaks these rules will have to face the consequences of his actions.
