Are there extraterrestrials in the universe? Have aliens been on Earth and are they here today? Some people believe the answer to both these questions is “yes”.  Those that believe this have formed theories on these topics and substantiate these theories with what they believe to be evidence.

The theory of ancient aliens is based on a belief that Extraterrestrials landed on Earth thousands of years ago. Supposedly, these beings possessed superior knowledge of science and engineering. When these aliens landed on Earth, they shared their knowledge with civilizations centuries ago and altered human history’s course.  Advocates of this theory also believe that through genetic engineering or cross-breeding, these aliens were involved with the evolution of humans. 

In direct conflict with the belief that ancient aliens altered human history’s course is the zoo hypothesis. With the current age of Earth and the huge number of stars, it has been suggested extraterrestrial life must exist. From this paradox, the zoo hypothesis has developed. This hypothesis claims that aliens do not want to be seen, and that they are here on Earth merely to observe humans.  They observe humans much like zookeepers observe animals. 

Ancient alien theorists point out two types of evidence to support the idea of alien visits to Earth during ancient times. One type of evidence is ancient artwork. It shows a type of alien figure and portrays ancient marvels like Stonehenge and the Egyptian pyramids. Another type of evidence is ancient religious texts that give a picture of god-like or heavenly beings coming down to Earth in vehicles that look like spaceships.

Stonehenge is a mysterious prehistoric monument in England that is believed to have been used by ancient aliens. The building of this monument started five thousand years ago, and over a period of one thousand years, it was modified. What its purpose was no one knows. UFO believers have come up with theories about ancient aliens and their spacecraft landing pads at Stonehenge.

The 1997 “Men in Black” movie is based on an extraterrestrial hypothesis. In the movie, the men in black are fictional characters, but in reality there are people who believe there really are men in black aliens on Earth. This hypothesis maintains the theory that men in black on Earth today are descendants of ancient aliens. This theory came about over the last fifty years when thousands of alien encounters and sightings of saucers were reported. Out of these sightings and encounters, a belief of men in black arose. These men in black dress in black suits and harass people who have seen them in order to keep them from reporting to others about their existence. These men in black claim to be government agents, but advocates of the extraterrestrial hypothesis suggest they are ancient aliens.

Reports of encounters with the men in black describe them as being short in height and tanned with a dark complexion. They mysteriously seem to have knowledge of the past of the person whom they have had contact with as if they have been watching the person for a long time. The men in black will show a person they come in contact with their identification, but when an effort is made to verify this identification, the person is found not to exist or to be dead for many years. 

Alien believers are intrigued with a substance known as angel hair.  This substance is reported to be spread from UFOs as they fly directly above. The fact that angel hair has been found at sightings of the Virgin Mary is the main reason for the alien believers’ curiosity. A strange event involving angel hair happened in France in 1952 when loads of angel hair were found, and there were many sightings of unexplained aircraft at that location.

Have you ever heard stories of alien abductions? Some people believe stories of alien abductions are true. Alleged reports of people being abducted by a strange alien species for the purpose of studying humans are the reason for this belief. These intelligent extraterrestrials are known as “Greys”. They visit Earth to secretly do medical experiments on us. Composite descriptions made by people who claim to have encountered Greys describe them as having small bodies, grey skin, large heads and big eyes. These creatures do not have external noses, ears or sex organs. The bodies of these aliens lack muscular definition, are stretched and have a small chest. People report seeing two different groups of Greys, and one group is taller than the other. This suggests that perhaps the smaller Greys are artificially-built robots or cyborg servants.

When making a medical experiment on a human, Greys are reported to stare into the person’s eyes and induce hallucinogenic states and various emotions. An English reproductive biologist, Jack Cohen, states that Greys are too physiologically similar to humans for it to be believed they are an alien species from a planet with a different ecology and environment than Earth. The result of Cohen’s hypothesis is a theory that Greys influenced life on Earth long ago, or that they are an ancient race of humans that left Earth centuries ago but still watch us on Earth.

The UFO religion named Raëlism is an outgrowth of the idea of ancient aliens being astronauts. The teachings of this religion are based on a belief that life on Earth was scientifically created by a species of extraterrestrials called Elohim. The Elohim looked like humans and were foolishly assumed to be angels, cherubim or gods. The Bible is full of stories about angels and demons that tell about millions of angels with experiences on Earth and in heaven.  According to the apocryphal Book of Enoch, a group of two hundred rebellious angels left heaven and came down to Earth. These angels called Watchers came to Earth in order to marry human woman and have children with them. The Quran tells a story about angels who are given a mind of their own. Satan also known as Lucifer was one of the angels who was given a mind of his own. He rebelled and was banished to Earth to be a mischief-maker amongst people.

Do the zoo hypothesis, evidence portrayed with ancient artwork, ancient marvels like Stonehenge and Egyptian pyramids, ancient religious texts picturing god-like creatures in spaceships, Men in Black, angel hair and the Greys abducting and studying humans lend credence to the theory of ancient aliens? Perhaps time will tell. Our modern space travel may someday find alien life out there in the vast universe and finally solve the mystery.
