Ancestors Smarter
Are we really that much smarter than our ancestors? I don’t believe that we are. I would say though that a lot of us are less ignorant of knowledge than our ancestors, but then again we are ignorant of how things were done in their time. How could a person even ask this question with a straight face? Are you smarter than Da vinci? Odds are you are probably not. How about Einstein? Are you smarter than him? These are two very good examples of our ancestors that most people of today are nowhere near as smart as.
If that’s not good enough for you, let’s go back even further. Let’s see a show of hands, how many people reading this article think they are smarter than socrates? The man was a philosophical genius I highly doubt any of you are smarter than him. What about king Solomon? According to the scriptures he was the wisest man to have ever lived. He ruled over Israel from 971 BC. to 931 BC. Socrates lived from around 469 BC. to 399 BC. The question was are we smarter than our ancestors, how far do you want to go back. With these two examples we are going back in history almost three thousand years. These people are proof of great thinkers even in the times when people believed the earth was flat and the sun revolved around it.
I think you would have to be a pretty stubborn person to not admit that our ancestors have proven to be as smart or smarter than modern day humans. At least our ancestors knew better than to borrow more than you could repay. If you wanted something you earned it or traded something for it. Now people borrow so much money they couldn’t pay it back in three life times. Maybe another question to ask is, if our ancestors were alive today would they think we were as smart as them. Most of us know nothing about farming, we would be helpless without the super market. Most of us don’t know how to fix our modern day chariots. A large portion of us never learn a skilled trade like they used to. I guess I’m going to have to say our ancestors were smarter than we are as a whole today. Most of us ride on the backs of our ancestors achievements. I’ll give you an example, how many versions of the phone do we really need.
