Spa Is Not The Only Major F1 Attraction This Weekend
Spa is not the only major attraction in the F1 world this weekend
…..Many a Formula One fan knows that Spa re-ignites the passion all petrolheads have, as the 24 V8-powered, fuel and rubber-burning creatures that inhabit the world of F1, take to the Ardennes Forest once again, with all looking for pride and glory.
However, in a sleepy place known as Burpham, a very special event is taking place, one of significant importance for myself, on a deeply personal level. The annual Burpham Motor Racing Club Clssics show is taking place this coming weekend, where myself and a few others will be having a day to remember.
A few weeks ago, I was contacted via Twitter by the BRMC, and started talking to a passionate man by the name of Dominic Santana, who is truly a lover of anything automotive and motorsport-derived, and he was very pleased to see that I had begun an ePetition to help a particular motorsport legend receive a deserving accolade for his work in motorsport, both on and off the track.
This then led to us talking about the upcoming BMRC Classics show, which is held every year, but Dominic then went on to inform me of how this year turned into a special event. He then revealed to me that John Surtees, the only man to win World Championship titles on both 2 and 4 wheels, would be attending. This instantly made me feel compelled to help, so over the past weeks, through websites I write for, which now includes PitLane Magazine itself, I have, in some capacity, provided a form of indirect publicity for the BMRC’s event.
Dominic has been working very hard behind the scenes, let me tell you. He is, as we speak, putting a lot of the final touches in place, making sure it goes well. There is so much hard work that goes into an event of this magnitude. He has even arranged for Motor Sport’s editor, Damien Smith, to chair a special event, talking about John’s eclectic career, called “John Surtees in Conversation.”
Not to mention that well-respected and revered motorsport writer and journalist, Alan Henry, will also be taking part in a similar event later that day, with ‘The Festival of The 40s” and much more besides, being a part of this very special event.
So to find out about how you can attend this event, which has so much more to offer, please email Dominic himself at info@thebmrc.com, as well as visit their website www.thebmrc.com, for further details on what is happening this coming Sunday the 2nd of September, and stay tuned for coverage of the event, as I’ll be reporting on what happens this coming weekend.
