Vampires different Types of Vampires Vampires are Real are Vampires Real

Vampires and vampire stories have existed in stories, literature and films for many years. Some have appeared in many muths and legends that date back centuries.

Immortal beings that are deemed to walk the earth for eternity, with an insatiable thirst for blood and have pale skin, many myths involving garlic and holy water to evade the thirst of a vampire. Images of Bram Stokers Dracula, the romantic Lestat from Anne Rice and even to the modern Edward from Stephanie Meyer’s vampire series Twilight, the word vampire is one to evoke images described above.

Whether you believe vampires to be a myth or folktale brought about by gothic authors, or one who thinks they exist and live amongst us, there are still many different types of vampires, usually based upon their feeding methods.

Below you will find a description of the different types of vampires that exist, regardless whether you believe vampires are myth, or one who believe that legends originate from a real source.

SANGUINARIANS

Sanguinarians are mortal people who require blood of others to maintain life and good health. Although born like any normal person, it is usually during puberty that they begin to notice changes. This is called “the awakening.”

During the awakening, the body will go through many changes, which includes increased sensitivity to light, both natural and unnatural, sleeping habits change, an increase in psychic abilities and a need to feed with blood. Some Sanguinarians can also be effected by becoming faster and at times stronger than an otherwise normal human.

Sanguinarians require the “life-force” contained within the blood and not actually the blood itself to live. This condition can be passed on through birth and through families but has not been detected to change “normal” humans.

PSI VAMPIRES

Again, like the Sangunarians Psi vampires are mortals. Instead of requiring blood to maintain a healthy life, Psi vampires require the energy of others to live. You may come across the spelling as Psi or Psy, both relating the increases psychic ability, and may also be known as pranic vampires.

Psi vampires go through the same changes mentioned above when they reach puberty. The vampire can feed singularly or in places where there is a large group of people emitting their energy, or they can do it without one knowing.

Psi vampires cover a broad range of vampires as some utilize different energy to survive. There are those that can use the energy of the elements found in nature, those that feed from emotions of others and those who feed on the energy created during sexual intercourse. There are other areas in which a psi vampire may feed from energy but the above are the most well known.

INHERITORS

Like the above vampires, Inheritors are born human and develop their new awakening during late puberty. But unlike the vampires above, Inheritors are much like some of the vampires we see in movies and books.

An Inheritor has the increased psychic abilities and extra strength and alertness that the other vampires, but their major difference is that they live for a very long time. They can live between 350-400 years and outlive many of their family.

An Inheritor also has the ability to heal very quickly and will often avoid sickness. You may become an Inheritor through birth, passed from parent to baby but there are some cases where neither parent was a vampire. Inheritors also consume food along with blood.

AGELESS VAMPIRES

An Ageless vampire may also be called the “Classical” vampire. Thinking back to Bram Stoker or even Edward from Twilight fame, these images are what are conjured when discussing “ageless vampires”.

An Ageless vampire is turned by another unlike the above vampires who inherited or developed their vampirism. They do not breath; they do not consume food as one would normally but require blood to survive.

Imagine all scenes you have witnessed in media about vampires and you’ll discover the ageless vampire. One thing that is not included amongst popular belief, is that ageless vampires are not affected by garlic, holy water or crosses.

Although vampires have featured amongst countless books, movies and some myths and legends, there are those amongst us who have altered DNA, thirst blood and call themselves vampires and maintain a healthy life amongst normal humans. When we envision a vampire in our heads, we are more inclined to see those that have been depicted in modern film and literature. But unlike these, a real vampire is much like you and mewith just an added desire for energy contained in blood.
