Who Drinks more Alcohol Men or Women - Women
From my experience and those of my girlfriends, I shout out loud: “WOMEN!” And I can prove you that anytime. Perhaps because on a every night out I am constantly surrounded by single ladies that stick together in loud groups with cocktails in their hands, wearing super short mini dresses with super high heels, clearly giving the message: “I am soooo much fun! How come I am still single?” Perhaps because I know women who do not pass a day without at least a glass of wine, but usually a bottle or two if she has another lady friend over. Perhaps because the men I know are real gentlemen that would fill our glasses before serving themselves (and how could they know that ladies drink much fast). Perhaps because everywhere I look I see the new generation of young women chatting over beer, wine or wodka+redbull instead of coffee or tea.
And I am not talking here about teenagers abusing alcohol as the desired forbidden fruit. I am speaking about all the successful women, top managers, doctors, teachers, workaholics, spending their days making tough decisions so in the evening they can drown it in a glass. The amounts may be smaller than an average man consumes on a night out with his buddies. But the drinks are consistent, the need is permanent and it keeps spreading. I would guess that 70% of women drinks, 10% don’t drink because they are pregnant or breast-feeding, 10% don’t drink yet but they will start affected by the society and last 10% don’t drink because they do not have friends.
I blame it all on the stereotype that “those who don’t drink are no fun”. Yes, it sounds totally childish and silly. But there definitely is some truth in the words – if you enter a bar, the table that seems having the most fun is the one with the most drinks on it. And a crowd of tipsy ladies is a much more welcoming view than a bunch of aggressive drunk “roosters”. The fact that we drink alcohol does not mean you will see us wasted vomiting behind a corner. Nope, we rather will elegantly sip our wine while gossiping, maybe sing some karaoke after a few bottles or give our number to that cute guy by the bar. No, the lady likes her wine and the lady can maintain it as a lady.
