Morality is a standard of behavior. It ascertains the limits to good and bad. Our ethics, laws, societies and above all, our inner conscience determines moral values. The world today needs morality like never before. The difference between the good and the evil, right or wrong is somewhat getting grim. The youth feels that the older generation is dictating them their way and that they have no right to judge or declare them morally incorrect. The older generation is also unsuccessful in depicting the moral values in their own character, are extremely harsh and imposing. In short, the world is in a state of chaos, where no one actually follows and believes in one set of rules regarding human conduct.

The building block of a society is a home - a family. If we are able to raise our kids in a responsible manner, with wise decisions and presenting them with choices instead of pressuring them, it will eventually result in a big change. Also we need to explain why certain things are considered immoral, and what are their dire consequences. A child raised without any accountability for his/her actions will never question his deeds. Morality can raise an able child into a society that honors virtue.

We are generally more inclined towards our rights than our responsibilities. We expect others to treat us morally while we slam the same set of morals when it comes to us. Balance is what we need. Our numb, ignorant behavior is also causing trouble. The crimes have gradually succumbed our social systems, nothing happens overnight. According to Nation Master, America, United Kingdom and Germany have been ranked at the top in highest crime rates. Morals are important in helping our plaguing societies.

At the global level, wars, war crimes, the biological, chemical and nuclear race is threatening to the whole world. Without moral limits in place, the world is a no man’s land. Terrorism, bombings, killings all account to the breach of law and dishonoring morals.

Every chip needs to change in order to bring a massive transformation. We need to redefine the old moral limits, because times have dimmed our visions so much so that we hardly can differentiate what’s right and what’s not. But everything is not right, and bringing the self-assessments back in our lives will bring back the old peaceful, happy, guilt-free globe. It certainly is time to return to innocence!
