“Vitamin Angels” Donating one $5 e-card: To Save 20 People’s Lives!

I am astounded to find a charity, “Vitamin Angels”, where just Twenty Five Cents ($.25) can save a life!  Realizing that right now, the economy (and the times are tough), I am overjoyed that purchasing one e-card for only $5.00 may save 20 people’s lives! I believe that I have found a place (www.vitaminangels.org ), that’s worthy of receiving my hard earned dollars and cents!

OPERATION 20/20: Can save One Person’s Life for only Twenty Five Cents?!

Is a person’s life worth Twenty Five Cents? Imagine a person who might live or die; -lives hanging in the balance for just .25 Cents, apiece? (Are many people’s lives really depending on getting just two doses a year, of an essential Vitamin?) Imagine having the power to save a life, for just pennies! How can this be true? HOW to Donate: (Micro-Donations):

If you’re like me, you’ve probably heard one story after another, about different charities. Donations are down, during these troubled economic times, and most charities are scrambling for money. It boggles my mind; it seems that every cause seems more important than ever! However, with most causes (though important), it appears that the money either won’t help much. Or what’s even worse, the money won’t reach the truly needy.  However, it appears, that even I can even make a difference; donating just $5 to Vitamin Angels Alliance!

 MEASURE of SUCCESS:

How many people -and What Percentage of People are Helped through “Vitamin Angels” Programs? Here’s another excerpt from Vitamin Angels, which illustrates how they measure “success”:…”We measure the number of children and families served and our cost to reach them. In 2008, we provided vital nutrition to 7.5 million children throughout the world. We spent $1.3 million in program support, fundraising and administrative areas. WHAT PERCENTAGE OF PEOPLE’S LIVES ARE SAVED?

Another excerpt from Vitamin Angels webpage: tells me what percentage of lives are saved: “…An estimated 190 million children suffer from vitamin A deficiency (VAD) worldwide. How can People Help “Vitamin Angels”?

In the past, I have been bothered that I might not to be able to help anyone.  So, I kept my eyes and ears open –to find a way to give to a worthy cause.  While pondering, “What can I do to help, this holiday season? -This Charity caught my eye! “Vitamin Angels” first captured my imagination, when I saw the President and Founder, “Howard B. Shiffer”,  speak on “Good Day LA”.  Howard spoke about why he left his own successful company, to form “Vitamin Angels” on a local morning show: “Good Day LA”, on channel 11.  He brought tears to my eyes, and I said, “Yes! Now, that I have found what I think is a worthy cause, -I want to spread the word, about Vitamin Angels! I am writing this article, and rejoicing that I have found something that I can believe in!

MY ACTION PLAN:

How am I going to donate to Vitamin Angels? Here’s what I plan to do! I am going to start, by sending an e-card (Did I mention that it’s only$5!)? It’s the least I can do! Of course, one can always donate more! In addition: if one wants to give presents, along with the “gift of life”, then purchase: Vitamin Angel’s T-Shirts with Logo (to spread the word)!  Just think, if everyone sent an e-card, -as low as $5.00, we each could save  20 people’s lives!
