Modern Women they know what they want

Most modern women in today’s world go through periods of their lives where everything is flowing along at a predictable pace. The paces change as do the women, but you get the idea. Even when it is an exciting time of newness and change many women feel comforted by having a sense of what their next step is going to be or look like or feel like and it is good.

It is always startling and disconcerting when we look up one day to find that a couple of key components have drastically changed in a most unexpected way and our world rapidly becomes very quiet and amplified as we switch from having a clear, comfortable idea of what to expect to tightly gripping the arms of our chair because we realize we don’t know what is coming around the next corner.

I have heard this described before as the dark night of the soul,’ a time where we don’t know what is coming next because we haven’t fully chosen our direction through the circumstances yet and at times in my life when I have felt just that way I have wondered in awe at how it can all change so quickly.

As a modern woman I may change my path mid stream or choose something else from time to time and when I look up, find that where I am now wasn’t really what I had in mind at the start but that doesn’t detract from the situation, nor does it mean I didn’t choose it all purposefully because I truly understood what I was going for.

I am at a place in my womanhood where I clearly know the outline of what I desire to have and be in my life. For some women it is something that comes to them more quickly, just as for others that type of self knowledge is a life long pursuit. I know that wanting is a statement of something which I lack where as the ability to identify and pursue my desires is powerful and many wise modern women share this same understanding even if they would express it differently.

When I choose change I don’t fall out of the ranks of those modern women who are busy knowing what they want or never deviating from a dream because it is the act of pursuing my own dreams my dreams in the moment and my dreams long term that in itself proves I have identified what I want and who I want to be.
