How to Show Compassion to Strangers
In today’s world, there is nothing as actual as showing compassion towards strangers. As we continue our journey through life, compassion should always be part of our true personality so that we can find it very simple to show compassion to strangers. Compassion comes from our heart, it is a feeling of kindness and benevolence, of affection to our fellow human beings and it instinctively reveals itself when we are good, kind, generous and helpful to people we don’t really know.
The feeling of compassion makes us want to help people, relieve or alleviate them of their pains, torments and difficulties; caring and loving people no matter who they are or where they are from.
How can we show compassion toward strangers?
Showing compassion to strangers is undemanding and at the same time, it is easier said than done but compassion comes from the heart. Here are ways to show compassion to strangers;
* Be kind in mildness and generous in the spirit
Kindness is the sanctuary of friendship and it is the direct route to the hearts of our fellow human beings. Kindness promotes compassion. We can show compassion to strangers by helping them when they need help most, by putting their needs before our own needs – generosity. Kindness should be shown without expecting any recompense.
* Be friendly
One of the reasons why most people do not have many friends is because they are not compassionate towards strangers. Someone who is affluent in friendship has implanted abundantly the seed of compassion, concern, respect, goodwill and love. When we are friendly to strangers, they tend to gain our trust and be free with us. They feel liberated to talk to us about anything – their way of lives, their interest, hope and dreams.
* Be sympathetic
Concisely, sympathy means compassion; it is when we show understanding, empathy, commiseration, condolences and support towards strangers. When we provide sympathy, we are telling them that we are concerned about them.
* Show them how much you love and care
An act of caring for a stranger defines compassion. When we care for strangers, it shows how thoughtful we are. We take charge of their difficulties and solve their problems for them. We give them all the attention they require and concentrate on how to lessen their pains and sufferings.
Also, we can show compassion to strangers when we:
Help a stranded stranger by providing him with food and accommodation. Help an injured stranger – accident victims and take them to the hospital. Give to them what they don’t have. Listen when they are in talk and be there for them. Understand them when and why they are depressed.
Showing Compassion is like contributing to the happiness of strangers or making them happy. The more of compassion that we give, the move we have. The larger our compassion, kindheartedness and understanding feelings towards strangers, the certain our own increase in greatness.
