Why Vampires Love Blood

When you think of a vampire, what comes first to your mind? No, I’m not looking for the answer of Edward Cullen, or Count Dracula. Anyone else have another answer? Blood. Good answer.

In countless movies, and countless folklore, one thing about vampires remains constant. Vampires are known to crave blood. Yes, I know. You here that, and the only thing that comes to mind is the movie quote, “I vant to suck your blood!” Despite that older than old movie quote, does anyone really question why vampires crave blood so much? Well I have, and it’s a simple answer.

What is the thing that keeps our heart pumping, and our life sustaining? Blood. With that answer, you can easily figure out the connection between vampires and blood. Once we’re dead, the blood our bodies need, stops flowing. As our bodies deteriorate over time in the ground, our blood begins to evaporate. So, it makes sense that in order for a vampire to sustain immortal life, they need to keep the blood from evaporating from their already dead bodies.

Now, I know that the way they take that blood is a very scary notion. Trust me, I wouldn’t want any vampire sinking their fangs into my neck anytime soon. Yet, I understand it. How many times have you, after exercising intensely, guzzled water like there was no tomorrow? Or, how many drug users have killed and stole just to get something their body is telling them they crave so greatly? It’s the same instance with Vampires and blood. They’re body is craving it, and they need to take it anyway they can get it.

Blood is their water. Blood is their drug. Blood is their life. Just like it is with anyone who is among the living.

So class, what is it that we have learned today? Well, we’ve learned the connection between vampires and blood. Why they crave it, why they need it, and also why we could at one point find ourselves with our very own neck punctures. Maybe this will help if you have a fear of vampires, or maybe this will strike a curiosity to delve deeper into the world of them. Although, with the latter, I wouldn’t go full out and try to become one yourself. Some people aren’t quite so open-minded on the world of vampires, as you and I.

Next time you see or hear something about a vampire, though, ask questions. Ask questions, and think of logical conclusions. We’ve already solved the age old question of why vampires are so notorious for blood drinking, but there are plenty more questions to ask.
