The Characteristics of Zombies have been a long discussion that never seems to end. In the end what it comes down to is the two main fields of zombies.

One. There is the Undead Zombie. This creature is a person who has been infected with the deadly disease and has died and reanimated. The basic principle is that they run off the most primal instincts. This means originally they will look like normal people exept that they will shuffle slowly and stagger and limp, because zombies are not known for their great speed and balance! The easy things to spot are the eventual rotting of flesh which leads to things like exposed bone, gruesome wounds, and a putrid stench. The common mistake is that zombies have supernatural speed and senses but truly a zombie is just a human… that undead. Their sense of smell, taste, sight and hearing is generally the same, unless the decay of their body has damaged the senses. One feature to zombie senses is a lack of pain receptors. The only way to properly put down one of the living dead is to destroy or damage the brain. So generally they are smelly, slow, and have a taste for human flesh!

Two. The Infected Human (Zombie). This person has been infected with a disease that not only causes insanity and paranoia, but it also causes a rabbis like reaction. This means the average infected will be looking to rip you to shreds if it comes across you. This is a distinct difference however to normal zombies, who want to just eat you. These creatures don’t have the same distinct look as the undead sense.. well they are living! They will be a nasty yellow or blueish color and which tends to seem sickly. They have wild eyes and usually signs of disease and infections scatter there body. The infected don’t shuffle and limp like the undead, instead they have the ability to run and run for a long distance. Since they are in a rabid state of mind, they tend to not feel normal fatigue or pain. The way to dispatch one of these terrifying creatures is to simply kill them. They are human beings, just crazy ones, and can be put down as such. One thing to take in mind is the lack of pain, so a good head shot or heart stab is preferred!

So if you come across either “zombie” you will know exactly which one you are looking at and what the best plan for action is. Usually the best case is to RUN!
